How do I apply for enrolment at Parkwood Primary School?

Parkwood Primary School accepts enrolments throughout the year. Enrolment may be made in person at the school or managed through other means. On enrolment the school requires a copy of the child’s birth certificate and immunisation record. If the child has entered the country from overseas the passport must be provided so the visa details may be determined.

Children in Pre Primary to Year Six that reside within the school’s boundaries are guaranteed a place at the school. The school considers out of boundary enrolments when vacancies are available. Further information can be found under the Parent Info tab.

At what age does my child attend Kindergarten?

In Western Australia, children can start their education in Kindergarten. Compulsory schooling starts the following year in Pre-primary.  To determine when your child can start school, please use the Department of Education’s School Age Calculator.

What are the school hours?

Students will be supervised from 8:30am and classes begin promptly at 8:50am.

Lunch is from 11:00am until 11:40am and Recess is from 1:40pm until 2:00pm.

Classes conclude daily at 3:00pm.

Can International Fee Paying Students enrol at Parkwood Primary?

Parkwood Primary School is registered to enrol fee paying students. Parents who enter Australia on a visa that requires their children to pay tuition fees should contact TAFE International Western Australia (TIWA).

Where do I park around the school?

Please obey all street signage when parking near our school and please be respectful of our school neighbours. Alternatively, many parents use the 'Kiss n Go' drop zone along Zelkova Way to ensure their students arrive safely and efficiently onto the school grounds.

Is there Before and After School care?

OSH Club is a private provider of these services who operate on the school grounds. There are many other providers in the community.

Does the school have EFTPOS?

Yes. The school office will accept cash, bank transfer and we have EFTPOS facilities available.

What are the Term Dates and when are the School Development Days?

Term Dates for current and future years can be found here. School Development Days are opportunities for staff to engage in Professional Learning and will be communicated via the Newsletter and Term Planners.

Parkwood Primary has a 1:1 BYOD iPad program from Year 4 onwards. What does this mean?

At Parkwood Primary we believe in using the most appropriate device to assist students access the curriculum, be prepared for the future and be creators with technology to have greater autonomy over their own learning. To this end the school has invested heavily to ensure the most up to date technologies are available for our teachers and students to use. The school preferred device is the iPad and there is a school supplied 1 device to 1 student program in Year 3. From Year 4 onwards parents are asked to supply this device. 

My child has allergies, what do I need to provide to the school?

Upon enrolment, please supply the school with all relevant information that you believe the school requires to ensure your child is safe whilst under our care. You may be asked to supply additional information in order to create a Medical Plan for your child.
