Parkwood Primary School has been serving the Parkwood community for over 40 years. Ours is a richly multicultural school with many nationalities represented in both mainstream and Intensive English Centre classes.
The school is driven by the belief that every student is capable of successful learning. The students of Parkwood Primary are at the centre of every decision we make. Our students are engaged in a stimulating learning program that builds upon existing skills and knowledge and motivates them to pursue goals and achieve their potential.
We seek to enhance our understanding of and commitment to the needs and aspirations of our students, their families and the broader community whilst building and maintaining positive and caring relationships. There is a strong collegial culture of mutual trust amongst staff and parents are treated as partners in the promotion of student learning and wellbeing. The school works to maintain a learning environment that is safe, respectful, tolerant, inclusive and that promotes intellectual rigour.
Community involvement at Parkwood Primary is important to us. Our School Board provides guidance and assists in the governance of the school. The Board has been pivotal in policy review, quality assurance, direction setting and the adoption of Positive Behaviour Support WA. The Parents and Citizens (P & C) group continues to be invaluable in whole school funding efforts, community events and engagement and in promoting the work of the school.
